Every decent anime would at least have a decent backstory, some sort of plot to follow, build up, and hopefully reach a climax at some point. It's been done over and over again, which is fine, but at least develop the story. The questioning of humanity's ability to descend into chaos and violence and whether or not human beings are worth saving at all is not new. Story: Extremely weak, rushed, and nonsensical. Not have a single Arabic friend to write them one sentence? Maybe even use Google translate? They also used Arabic letters to showcase that people from an Arabic origin were discussing the news but the letters meant nothing. The English dialogue was so cringy and unnecessary. Can we stop it? If you can't speak English, just stick with Japanese and subtitle it.

If I could give this series a 0 out of 10 I would.įirst of all, let's address the English dialogue. They rely so heavily on sex and gore but the story was just absolutely awful. I don't understand the hype.What a complete waste of time. Having the body of a devil but the same crybaby heart, Akira works alongside Ryou, destroying those that harm humanity and his loved ones. Though it grants him great power, this new partnership awakens an insatiable and primeval part of Akira. In a reckless attempt to save his best friend, Akira unwittingly merges with the devil Amon and becomes a Devilman, gaining the power to defeat the remaining demons. Amidst bloodshed and death, demons possess the partiers, turning their bodies into grotesque monsters, and begin wreaking havoc. However, to Akira's surprise, the place they go to is Sabbath: an immoral party of debauchery and degeneracy. So when his childhood friend Ryou Asuka asks for his help in uncovering devils, Akira accepts without hesitation. Weak and unassuming, Akira Fudou has always had a bleeding heart. However, if the will of an individual is strong enough, they can overcome the demon and make its power their own, becoming a Devilman. Devils cannot take form without a living host.
